Ed Stacey-Banjo/Vocals |
Born and raised in Houston Texas, Ed was raised in the music industry. Because his father was a part-time weekend D.J. for KIKK radio in Houston, Texas for most of Ed's childhood, he was exposed to superstar celebrities like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and numerous others. Ed got his first guitar at the age of 12, and within a few years his attention turned to the five string banjo. His first "payin' gig," was with Bill Grant and Delhia Bell. From there, Ed moved on to bands such as The Rocky Road Ramblers, Joe Diffie and Special Editon, Union Standard (which was a finalist on "You Can Be A Star"), the country band Hit-N-Run where Ed showed his talent as a bass player, and then as an acoustic rhythm guitarist for country recording artist David Warren Reed. Ed was also the original banjo player/baritone vocalist of Timberline Drive. Ed is a hard driving banjo player that fits integrally with the rest of the band. Ed seems to have a knack for moving seamlessly between several styles with taste. Ed has had country songs recorded by major label artists, and he has co-written with many of the great Nashville songwriters. Ed currently resides near Nashville, Tennessee and now plays exclusively with "Blackjack Ridge." Ed also proudly endorses Hatfield Banjos. Please visit the Hatfield Banjos link on the "links" page to learn more about them. Check out the new "Blue Chip" picks Ed recommends too! |
